Distance to Camera: Keep it close! Photos where the subject is nearer to the camera capture more detail, especially in close-up shots.
Lighting Matters: Aim for evenly lit photos with the light coming from the camera’s angle. Avoid strong backlighting, heavy shadows, dark images, or color filters to get the best painting results.
Canvas Dimensions: Larger canvases reveal more detail, so for intricate images, choose a minimum of 16×20 inches. Ensure your photo’s aspect ratio matches the canvas (e.g., a square image for a square canvas).
